    We at Pro-Ject Audio Systems believe that the power supply is a very important component in the audio chain, and makes a decisive contribution to the sound quality of an audio device. In order to ensure on the one hand, the maximum playback quality and on the other hand, the complete separation of the phono amplifier from the power supply, the Power Box RS Phono created with battery power. The power supply quality is particularly critical when the signals to be amplified are very small. A low output MC cartridge typically has an output voltage of 0.2mV = 0.0002V. Such signals are extremely sensitive to interference from the power grid.  

     

    How does the Power Box RS Phono?  

     

    When the Power Box RS Phono is connected to the Phono Box RS and turned on, then there is only the battery connection to the Phono Box RS. Since power supply and charging unit are physically separated, interference from the power grid can not act sounded dangerous.If the battery charge falls below a certain value, a further playback may damage the battery. Therefore, the charging process is automatically active, the charging status is indicated by LED on the front panel. The play continues, only the advantage of a complete separation from the power supply is not available for the period of the store. While this represents the biggest advantage is not given temporarily operates the battery as a filter and the sound quality is still far better than the standard power supply. Once the batteries are fully charged, the charging process is automatically disconnected and the Phono Box RS powered only by the battery with electricity.
